I painted this on Thanksgiving eve 2018 and spent the holiday with some good friends one of whom has an affinity for Leghorns so I named it after her. There really aren't any whites in nature only different degrees of color. The challenge here was to paint the white bird and add interest gently with varied colors. I really love the juicy rich warms in the legs and the crown and waddle and of course the stark contrast between blown out highlights and feathers. One of my all time favorites!

• 100% combed and ring-spun cotton (heather colors contain polyester)
